A Day Hike from (Budlaan to Sirao)

A Day hike from Budlaan to Sirao Peak

Thoughts on going the wilderness of nature excites me. Especially I’ve been hearing a lot of stories about Budlaan trek to Sirao Peak. Through social media, I met my elementary batch mate as he shared on the group chat about asking school supply donation they’ll be needing on their trek for a cause. Because of that, I got interested in his activities and found out he had been to different mountains. If you’re a tech-savvy person it’ll be easy for you to search someone online. In a short span of time, I was able to show my interest to join in their hike activities. During that time they’ll be having a trekking event at Mt. Lanaya in Alegria Cebu. The 4th municipal income class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. Mt. Lanaya is popular for its Windows 8 overlooking on the peak of the mountain.

Why windows 8? I asked Ronaldo my batch mate, he said: ” check your desktop either a laptop or PC, one of the wallpapers has a great landscape of a mountain.” So probably Mt. Lanaya’s view on top is the same as the wallpaper or screensaver on your pc/laptop. However; I can’t join them because I had a scheduled day tour to Camotes Island with foreign friends. Check out my Day tour escapade in Camotes for more details.

There are things you need to consider as joiners for this trek. You need to do some research about the place. Read blogs and experiences to those who already had their trek from Budlaan to Sirao peak. Assess yourself if you’re fit enough to join. If you’re a newbie you need to prepare yourself especially if you don’t do regular exercise. Because it may shock your muscles and you will experience muscle cramps for a couple of days.

As for my experience, I always end up having muscle cramps in my legs for 2-3 days because I always bring unnecessary things. If your backpack is heavy you always exert strength through your legs in hiking especially if there are rocky parts on your trek. So don’t put too much loads in your bag. Only necessary things should be considered and you should have a lightweight bag.
